Biodiversity and its conservation

What is biodiversity?

Laverty (2008, p.1) defined biodiversity as “The variety of life on Earth at all its levels, from genes to ecosystems and the ecological and evolutionary processes that sustain it”. It is obvious through this definition that biodiversity is very important for humans as they depend on it for basic needs like: food, medicine and it helps us also in both spiritually and culturally.
